Barcelona went top of the LaLiga table after beating Las Palmas 2-0.

Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres were on target for the Catalan club to beat relegation-threatened Las Palmas, who remain one point above the drop zone.

Barca are three points clear of Real Madrid – who play Girona on Sunday – and one point above Atletico Madrid, who beat Valencia 3-0 earlier on Saturday.

Julian Alvarez’s brace and Angel Correa’s late goal sealed three points for Atletico to help keep the pressure on at the top of the standings.

Villarreal’s push for Europe continued with a 1-0 win over 10-man Rayo Vallecano after former Leicester and Newcastle winger Ayoze Perez scored the winner for them to stay fifth.

Espanyol distanced themselves from the relegation zone with Fernando Calero’s late goal the difference to beat strugglers Deportivo Alaves.

In Serie A, Inter Milan went top of the table after Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the game to beat Genoa 1-0.

Inter bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Juventus and sit one point clear of Napoli, who play on Sunday.

Fourth-placed Lazio were held to a goalless draw by second-from-bottom Venezia, while AC Milan’s miserable week soured further after being beaten 2-1 by Torino.

After crashing out of the Champions League on Tuesday, Milan went behind through a Malick Thiaw own goal and Christian Pulisic had a penalty saved before Tijjani Reijnders levelled, only for Gvidas Gineitis to snatch three points.

New Parma boss Cristian Chivu got off to a winning start after his side beat European hopefuls Bologna 2-0.

The relegation-threatened side claimed their first win of 2025 through Ange-Yoan Bonny’s penalty and Simon Sohm’s strike to move out of the relegation zone.

Serhou Guirassy scored four times as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Union Berlin 6-0 in the Bundesliga.

Dortmund’s rout started when Diogo Leite turned the ball into his own net and Guirassy kicked off his goalscoring tally just before the break.

A destructive final 15 minutes saw Guirassy strike three more times before Maxi Beier capped off a dominant display and Pascal Gross finished the match with four assists.

Champions Bayer Leverkusen kept the pressure on at the top of the table after beating Holstein Kiel 2-0.

Patrik Schick and Amine Adli struck in the first half as Xabi Alonso’s side extended their unbeaten league run to 21 games and piled more misery on the bottom-of-the-table team.

Mainz continued their quest for a European spot after goals from Jae-sung Lee and Paul Nebel handed them a 2-0 win over St Pauli to move up into fifth, while Wolfsburg drew 1-1 with strugglers Bochum.

Alexis Claude-Maurice was the difference for Augsburg after his second-half hat-trick gave them a 3-0 win over 10-man Borussia Monchengladbach, who had goalkeeper Jonas Omlin sent off in the 28th minute.

In Ligue 1, Marseille fell 10 points behind leaders Paris St Germain after they were beaten 3-0 by Auxerre.

Hakon Haraldsson’s double gave Lille a 2-1 win over Monaco and moved his side into third, one point above Nice, who play on Sunday.

Elsewhere, a six-goal thriller saw Saint-Etienne and Angers draw 3-3 after Bamba Dieng’s stoppage-time goal rescued a point for Angers.
