Barnsley survived a late scare to beat Lincoln 4-3 in a dramatic game.

Goals from Davis Keillor-Dunn, Adam Phillips, Georgie Gent and Max Watters took Darrell Clarke’s side to within four points of the play-off places.

Second-half strikes from Tendayi Darikwa, Reeco Hackett-Fairchild and Jovon Makama were not quite enough to salvage anything for the visitors.

Barnsley took the lead when a wayward header fell to Keillor-Dunn (14) on the edge of the area, and the Reds’ top-scorer lofted his first-time finish over goalkeeper Zach Jeacock.

The hosts doubled their lead when Phillips (33) strode forward and struck cleanly into the bottom corner.

Barnsley continued to dominate after half-time and made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute. Gent reacted quickest to Stephen Humphrys’ cross and finished from close range.

Darikwa (67) took advantage at the back post from a misplaced header to make it 3-1.

Barnsley restored their three-goal cushion when Watters finished well with 14 minutes to play.

Lincoln clawed another goal back six minutes from time through Hackett-Fairchild and added a third in stoppage time when Makama poked in from close range.
