Frankie Maguire scored the only goal in the 26th minute, producing a fine finish after excellent play from Jacob Hazel.

It secured an eighth win in 12 games for Boston, who are now five points clear of the relegation zone.

Regan Linney hit a post early on for Altrincham, while Matthew Kosylo and Lewis Baines also went close as they suffered a sixth defeat in nine games to stay eighth, four points adrift of the play-offs.
