Braintree boosted their Vanarama National League survival hopes thanks to a 1-0 victory over play-off hopefuls Solihull Moors.

On-loan Woking midfielder Matt Robinson claimed the Iron’s winner, firing home a first-time effort from outside the 18-yard box in the 17th minute to register his first goal for the club.

Top scorer Kyrell Lisbie came close to doubling the hosts’ lead when his low effort struck a post, while Jack Stevens flashed narrowly wide at the other end just before the break.

Solihull pushed for a leveller in the second half before slipping to seventh in the table after Braintree held on for only second win in nine league games.
