Andy Woodman insisted Bromley “earned the right” to beat Doncaster as a 1-0 win moved them up to ninth in League Two.
A single goal from Deji Elerewe was all Bromley needed to seal all three points.
Woodman said: “I won’t stand here and try and lie to anybody and say we were unbelievable and deserved that tonight, but we created our own luck.
“Doncaster will be kicking themselves, they missed some big chances today and they had a lot of them.
“Sometimes football works in mysterious ways, our lads have been giving me everything every match – big saves, big blocks, big character, big heart – and that can carry you a long way and we saw that tonight.
“We had the luck of the football gods with us tonight but that isn’t to say my players didn’t earn the right to win the match as well.”
The game got off to a quick start with Joseph Olowu heading inches wide and Rob Street drawing a good save from Grant Smith.
However, it was the Ravens who took the lead with their first chance of the evening, Brooklyn Ilunga’s brilliant cross sidefooted home by Elerewe.
Undeterred by the goal, Doncaster continued to boss possession without being able to find a way through the Bromley rearguard. When they did, Smith was in inspired form to keep out Street again and Jordan Gibson.
On the hour mark Luke Molyneux’s free-kick crashed against the crossbar as Rovers continued to press for an equaliser.
Smith continued to be at his best, denying Street and Gibson again as the game entered the final 15 minutes before brilliantly turning Molyneux’s chip over the bar.
With 10 minutes of stoppage time signalled, Billy Sharp shot wide when he should have scored but despite incessant Doncaster pressure, they could not find a way through.
Rovers manager Grant McCann refused to be downhearted with the result.
He said: “Other than the goal we conceded – which was a bad goal to concede, we should have stopped the cross – but other than that my players dominated the match.
“How we didn’t score I don’t know, we would have created records tonight in terms of final third entries but nothing went in. We snatched at a few of the chances and their keeper made some big saves.
“We threw everything at it at the end, only leaving Owen Bailey back and throwing on as many attacking players as we could. We weren’t coming here to settle for a point.
“I feel if we had got one we would have gone on to win the match. I’ve said to the players if we continue playing like that this season we will be successful.”
