Dorking secured a valuable point in their relegation fight by holding promotion-chasing Altrincham to a draw in the National League.

The fourth-placed visitors went into the game hoping to put pressure on the teams above them but had George Wilson sent off late on and had to settle for a point in a 0-0 stalemate.

Dorking were lucky not to concede an early goal when a deflected cross from Regan Linney hit the crossbar but both goalkeepers were forced to make good saves to keep the game goalless.

Altrincham were then reduced to 10 men in second-half injury time when Wilson was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.
