Fylde snapped a three-match losing streak by beating fellow strugglers Wealdstone 2-0 to give themselves a National League lifeline.

In a tame first half, Tyler Roberts shot just wide for Fylde from a Jonathan Ustabasi cross 10 minutes in while at the other end Ben Winterbottom denied Sam Ashford when he got in behind.

Max Kretzschmar curled a Stones attempt wide nine minutes into the second period and Winterbottom had to tip an effort round a post as the visitors pushed hard for an opener.

However, it was Fylde who made the breakthrough in the 67th minute.

After good work down the left, Nick Haughton drilled the ball across the box for recently-arrived Ipswich loanee Ashley Boatswain to tap in a debut goal.

Haughton turned scorer to make it 2-0 heading into the last 10 minutes as another cutting move on the left flank saw Roberts tee up a left-footed finish from the long-serving Coasters midfielder.
