Harry Beautyman celebrated his 33rd birthday by converting a late penalty to earn relegation-threatened Woking a 1-1 draw at home to play-off hopefuls Rochdale in the National League.

The midfielder fired down the middle from the spot three minutes from time to keep Neal Ardley’s men three points above the drop zone.

Dale were on course to climb to fifth in the table after Devante Rodney collected a pass from Ethan Ebanks-Landell to round Cards goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen and open the scoring in the 27th minute.

But the visitors, who almost doubled their lead just before the break when Kairo Mitchell’s shot on the turn came back off a post, left the Laithwaite Community Stadium frustrated following the late twist.
