Substitute Panutche Camara rescued a precious point for struggling Crawley in the last minute as the Red Devils held play-off chasing Reading to a 1-1 draw.
Crawley were heading to a fourth successive defeat when Camara struck with a neat finish to cancel out Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan’s first-half opener.
The match then ended before Crawley’s Will Swan volleyed the ball home, referee Charles Breakspear having blown the full-time whistle on the cross from Camara.
After a quiet start, Reading keeper Joel Pereira was called into action on 26 minutes when he smothered a shot from Swan after a strong run through the middle by Kamari Doyle.
The Royals broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark when Harvey Knibbs fed Ehibhatiomhan and he stroked the ball in from close range.
The Red Devils had a let off shortly after the break when Billy Bodin broke through dangerously but was unable to pick out Mamadi Camara who was in a good position.
And Panutche Camara salvaged a point for Crawley in the last minute, scoring with a deft touch from close range after being fed by Doyle.
