Ryan Graydon scored for the second game running as Fleetwood kept their play-off hopes alive with a 2-1 League Two victory at Gillingham.

Pete Wild’s side snapped their four-game winless run at the expense of the John Coleman’s Gills, who have now gone 13 games without a win.

Elliott Nevitt converted from a Max Clark cross to give John Coleman’s men the advantage in the 39th minute.

However the lead would last a matter of minutes as Mark Helm drilled a right-footed shot from the edge of the area just before the break.

The visitors doubled their advantage after 50 minutes when a ball from Elliot Bonds was placed perfectly into the path of Graydon, who applied a cool finish from close range.

Cod Army goalkeeper Jay Lynch made two crucial saves in a matter of seconds on the hour mark, firstly denying Oli Hawkins before getting back to his feet to deny Nevitt’s follow-up strike.

Bradley Dack went close to salvaging a point late on, but the visitors resisted late pressure to seal the points.
