Steve Bruce was left frustrated as his Blackpool side failed to win at home again in Sky Bet League One.

The Tangerines have now drawn seven league matches in a row at home and are without a victory in front of their home supporters in the competition since late September.

Bruce stated: “It was really frustrating. I am disappointed for everybody concerned really. Before we’ve said we felt we’ve deserved to win games at home but in all honesty, I don’t think we have done tonight.”

Bruce felt his side underperformed in the final third and that left them unable to break down the visitors.

He added: “It was the final third really that cost us. We lacked guile and creativity. We created one or two little openings at the end of the first half but those chances lacked in the second period and unfortunately the longer the game went on the harder it became.”

Bruce is frustrated that his side cannot turn their excellent away form into points at home, and said: “It’s a huge frustration and it isn’t for the want of trying. I can’t fault the players for effort and they are frustrated just like me and all my staff and then in turn the supporters.

“We are picking up excellent points on the road and saving all our best performances for away from home, which I’ve never really had in my time as a coach.

“We have a chance on Saturday and then the Saturday after that, so let’s hope we can get going.”

Rotherham manager Steve Evans was pleased with his side’s performance and felt it may even have merited all three points.

The Millers picked up an important point on the road, and Evans said: “I thought we were very good.

“I don’t think that you will find anyone who was watching that in the stadium that isn’t of a Blackpool persuasion that would argue we didn’t deserve to actually win that game.

“In particular in the second half we found lots of space in their box and were able to put crosses in and really the only criticism I have is that we didn’t make more of that and create more in terms of an end product.”

Evans was keen to praise his players and felt he was asking a lot of them given the injuries to certain key players at present.

“The players have run their socks off for me and I can’t ask for more than that,” he added.

“Lads like Jordan (Hugill) in particular looked like they could run their legs off almost, so it’s a credit to them that they have something to show for tonight’s hard work.

“People forget we are missing (Jonson) Clarke-Harris, (Shaun) McWilliams and now the new boy (Dan Gore), who we are really excited about. I’m really excited to see what we can do when we have everybody available.”
