York scored two late goals to apply more pressure on leaders Barnet in a 3-1 victory over Gateshead in the Vanarama National League.

Luke Hannant opened the scoring for Gateshead after 11 minutes but typical of York’s quality campaign, Ashley Nathaniel-George levelled the scores in the 36th minute.

After Junior Luamba converted an Ollie Pearce cross to edge the title-chasers ahead, Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s 88th-minute strike rounded off proceedings for Adam Hinshelwood’s side.

The win sees second-placed York remain in the hunt for automatic promotion to the Football League.
